Ibanda District Chairperson Happy Herbert Mayanja has been declared unopposed for a second term as LC5 chairperson, reflecting strong political support and confidence in his leadership ahead of the local government elections.

 

The incumbent Ibanda District Chairperson, Happy Herbert Mayanja, has been declared unopposed for the LC5 chairperson seat after no challenger was nominated to contest against him in the upcoming local government elections.

Ibanda District Election Officer Ms. Nkeija Aidah Barekye officially confirmed Mayanja’s unopposed victory, citing the absence of rival candidates during the nomination exercise.

“No other candidate was duly nominated to vie for the position of District Chairperson,” Barekye said. “As a result, Mr. Happy Herbert Mayanja has been declared unopposed in accordance with the electoral guidelines.”

Mayanja, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer, will now serve another term leading Ibanda District.

Speaking after his declaration, Mayanja expressed gratitude to the people of Ibanda for their continued confidence in his leadership.

“I am deeply grateful to the people of Ibanda for the trust and support they have shown me,” Mayanja said. “This unopposed victory is a strong vote of confidence in our shared vision for the district.”

He pledged to remain committed to improving service delivery and promoting development across Ibanda.

“I assure the people of Ibanda that I will continue to serve diligently, with a renewed focus on better service delivery and inclusive development,” he added.

Mayanja’s unopposed return reflects his entrenched political support in the district and positions him to continue steering Ibanda’s development agenda in the next term.
